ABOUT US
Amador County is the premier Zinfandel appellation. Alderese Vineyards is a small, lovingly tended vineyard nestled in Drytown, just 10 minutes south of the famous Shenandoah Valley in Plymouth.
The soils, made up of decomposed granite, nourish head-trained vines that are mostly 50 years old. Long, hot summers coax deep, rich flavors from the grapes, which we carefully harvest at a target brix (sugar) level of 24 to 26, usually in early to mid-September.
We purchased this vineyard in 2008. The previous owners sold the fruit to notable wineries in Amador County and Lodi. Our first vintage, crafted by Ryan Nostestine of Nine Gables Winery, was in 2008. Today, our wines are lovingly made by Jeff Johnson at Drytown Cellars.
You can find our wines at Pokerville Market in Plymouth and in fine restaurants throughout Morgan Hill and the southern Santa Clara Valley. Our Zinfandels are medium-bodied and jammy with a smooth, slightly peppery finish. They make a perfect companion for a relaxed afternoon and pair beautifully with food - especially BBQ, roast chicken, turkey, ham, and hearty red Italian dishes.
